The Technical Sales Lead, Eastern Region, represents NewLeaf Symbiotics to key Channel Partners (Crop Input Suppliers) in an assigned region, implementing and executing all aspects of marketing programs for NewLeaf’s product offers. Additionally, the position provides technical and stewardship support to grow the commercial value and volume of Terrasym technology in the field. The Technical Sales Lead is responsible for achieving the annual sales budget for the assigned region by proactively developing and enhancing our Channel Partners’ grower interface.
Technical Sales Lead is a key position in the company reporting to the Manager, Business Development and carries the expectation of advancement. This Lead position will work in close cooperation with product development, commercial field biology, regulatory affairs, and communications for the successful adoption and integration of Terrasym technology into the portfolio of the assigned Channel Partner. The position creates relational interface between NewLeaf, crop input suppliers and growers to enhance business opportunities for NewLeaf’s product portfolio.
Management of NewLeaf’s business activities with assigned Channel Partners which includes developing and maintaining strong business relationships which develop, sustain and enhance the utilization of NewLeaf technology.
Development of a Two (2) Year Business plan as part of the business planning cycle with assigned regional Channel Partner and function as part of the Commercial Business Development team reporting to the Business Development Manager for setting and implementing NewLeaf distribution and marketing strategy.
Work toward the adoption and growth of Terrasym technology through all levels of the Channel Partners’ organizations, ensuring that all key influencers within the organization fully understand and support New Leaf’s strategic direction and goals.
Communication and facilitation of the sales support with the appropriate Sales Manager of the Channel Partners, so that effective business solutions are developed that represent mutually successful and profitable results, ensuring NewLeaf is positioned as a preferred supplier.
Responsible for identifying business opportunities for assigned Distributor(s) and working with relevant NewLeaf groups to provide required resources to meet such opportunities, and for setting and agreeing to stretch targets with Distributor, and NewLeaf management, which are monitored monthly.
Understand, implement and execute all aspects of the marketing plan initiatives, including multi-brand strategy to achieve targeted objectives for NewLeaf products within defined target markets.
Advocate for Channel Partners within NewLeaf.
Identify the specific product needs of the marketplace and report them to the Commercial Business Development team.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture Economics, Agricultural science or related subject with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Field Sales Management and/or a related agribusiness field
A strong business acumen and demonstrated understanding of the agricultural market, specifically the relationship of the Channel Partner within the Midwest, Eastern, and Mid- south US agronomic crop markets.
Demonstrated understanding of the crop/seed distribution system, business cycles and competitive relationships of distribution accounts
Must possess proven communications and interpersonal skills, persuasive selling and demonstrated negotiation skills.
Must be highly self-motivated and goal orientated with a proven record of goal attainment
